1st Degree Forcible Rape, 1st Degree Kidnapping
Goldsboro, N.C. — On May 1, at approximately 3:48 a.m., officers with Goldsboro Police Department’s Patrol “A” Shift were dispatched to the area of 153 Piedmont Airline Road for an assault-in-progress. When officers arrived, they made contact with a female parked on the side of the road who reported that a male subject had sexually assaulted her at gunpoint. Officers located a subject matching the male’s description a short distance from the victim’s vehicle and took him into custody. The suspect was identified as Darion Steven Marks, 28, of Goldsboro, NC. Mr. Marks was transported to the Police Department. The Goldsboro Police Department’s Criminal Investigations Division was contacted and responded. As a result of the investigation, Mr. Marks was charged with one count of 1st Degree Forcible Rape and one count of 1st Degree Kidnapping. Mr. Marks was placed in the Wayne County Jail under a $400,000 secured bond.
