Goldsboro, NC — On March 16, 2021, the Goldsboro Police Department received a complaint of possible child abuse from the Wayne County Department of Social Services. A 2-month-old infant had been treated at Wayne UNC Health Care for lacerations to the face.
On April 6, after further investigation by the Goldsboro Police Department Criminal Investigations Division, and with the assistance Wayne County DSS, it was discovered through medical screenings that the infant also had several bone fractures. As a result, a warrant was secured on Talisha Taylor, 22, for felony child abuse with serious physical injury, and negligent child abuse with serious physical injury.
At 10 a.m. on April 8, Ms. Taylor was arrested by the Goldsboro Police Department “C” Shift officers at 209 Spruce St. She was served on the outstanding warrant and confined to the Wayne County Jail under a $50,000 secure bond. Her first appearance is scheduled for April 12.
