Attempted First Degree Murder
Goldsboro, N.C. — On Nov. 20, 2015, at 1:32 p.m., the Goldsboro Police Department responded to a report of a shooting in the 1100 block of N. George St. An unknown suspect shot the victim, Michael Tomario Weeks, 35, multiple times while walking down the street. The Goldsboro Police Department Criminal Investigations Division was contacted and started an investigation. A suspect was not identified and no new information was developed during the investigation.
On July 21, 2021, additional information was developed on this case and the investigation resumed.
On Aug. 19, 2021, after further investigation from the Goldsboro Police Department Criminal Investigation Division, a suspect was identified and a warrant was secured on Tyrik Deondre Joyner, 25, for Attempted First Degree Murder.
On Aug. 24 at 8:45 a.m., Tyrik Deondre Joyner was arrested at the Magistrate’s Office without incident. Mr. Joyner received a $300,000 secured bond. His first appearance is scheduled for Aug. 25.
