Housing Unit

The Goldsboro Police Department Support Services Housing Unit’s primary duty is to promote a safe and healthy living environment in the City of Goldsboro’s public housing communities. The Housing Unit officers maintain a close working relationship with the citizens in the communities they patrol. To do so they must utilize a pro-active response to criminal activity within the housing communities while adhering to a community-policing concept of law enforcement.

Special Enforcement Unit

The Special Enforcement Unit (SEU) is a tactically trained, multi-functional, specialized unit of the Goldsboro Police Department’s Support Services Division.

SEU is frequently called upon to work a wide variety of assignments in the City of Goldsboro including, but not limited to:

  • Street Level Drug/Criminal Enterprise Investigation
  • Surveillance Operations
  • Tactical Operations/Service of Search & Arrest Warrants
  • Police Protection at City Sponsored Events
  • Bicycle Patrol
  • Assists the Patrol Division and Investigations Division as Needed
  • Special Assignments Designated by the Division Commander and/or Chief of Police

GPAC

The Goldsboro Partners Against Crime is an initiative which consist of a partnership between the Goldsboro Police Department, Court System, and community partners interested in using resources and strategies to assist individuals in making a change and reduce crime.

Goldsboro Partners Against Crime (GPAC) targets crime and builds community resources and strong public bonds as the key factor in helping individuals to disassociate from criminal misconduct. The GPAC provides individuals a “second chance” with assistance from their family and the community. We assist by confronting individuals who are involved in crime, offering individuals help in turning their lives in a positive direction and supporting the prosecution process if the individuals re-offend and return to crime and violence.

This initiative is not a strategy to forgive individuals for violent crime committed in the past. It is a promise to vigorously prosecute repeat offenders who continue to engage in criminal activity. This plan creates clear, predictable sanctions against those who commit violent crime, offers a range of services to help individuals, and focused family and community standards against violent crime and on known violent offenders. It is an offer by the community to assist those who engage incriminal activity to change their lifestyles by delivering resources available in Goldsboro.

Our goal is to improve the quality of life for residents of the City of Goldsboro by employing a comprehensive, collaborative, data driven, strategic approach to ending identified criminal activity and violence.

  • You will not be asked to leave your name
  • There is no “Caller ID”.

  • You will be told to check on your information after a certain amount of time.

Crime Stoppers is an international endeavor that allows citizens to give information about crimes without identifying themselves. Rewards are offered to callers who provide information leading to felony arrests. Callers remain anonymous and are not asked for any personal information.

The Goldsboro Wayne Crime Stoppers program was instituted in November of 1982 and has grown steadily since then. Since inception the program has resulted in the recovery of almost $2,000,000 in stolen property and seizure of nearly $8,000,000 in illegal narcotics for a combined total of almost $10,000,000. Crime Stoppers has assisted law enforcement in solving sixty-two murders and apprehending more than 1,200 fugitives from justice. Crime Stoppers callers have assisted in clearing more than 7,500 cases, and the arrests of more than 5,600 criminals. The conviction rate for suspects who are apprehended with Crime Stoppers information is approximately 99%.

Crime Stoppers is designed to help make our county a safer and better place to live. The organization is totally dependent on private donations of individuals, professional associations, merchants, and civic and social groups.
